Return

The world around me turns grey.
The sky, the trees, the water,
Everything seems to die,
As I withdrawal into my tomb of darkness.

Here is where I wither and weep,
Of things in the past,
And even things in the near future.
What am I to do?

My thoughts turn darker,
And as they do, so does my color.
It slowly fades into the abyss of my shell,
Where my past returns to haunt me.

I was almost lost to the darkness,
The cold and the dampness of the cave.
But by the luck of the gods,
Luna and Fenris,
I was brought back to life,
Into this world of light.

It was the kindness,
The love of others,
That seemed to trigger that response,
My response of life.

Fur as soft and pure as mine,
Gentle nudges and licks,
Whines of worry,
Those started my growth back into the light,
And from those, I will continue to grow and blossom,
Until I reach the moon, and the stars beyond.
